Pimenko AI Provider
The Provider connects your Moodle site to the Pimenko AI service and manages access to the credits included in your plan.
The Provider is supplied as part of the Pimenko AI service.
Getting started
Install Pimenko AI in Moodle.
Your purchase gives you access to the Pimenko AI Provider, which connects your Moodle site to the Pimenko AI service and manages your AI credits.
To display the assistant in Moodle, you must also freely download and install the companion placement plugin ai/placement/pimenkotchatbot.
Two components
The Provider manages credits. The placement displays the assistant.
The two components work together, but they have different roles in your Moodle site.
ai/placement/pimenkotchatbot
The placement plugin adds the Pimenko AI assistant interface to Moodle. It can be downloaded and installed separately from the Provider.
The placement plugin is supplied separately with its installation instructions.
Important: installing the Provider alone does not display the assistant in Moodle. You also need to install and enable ai/placement/pimenkotchatbot.

Set up Pimenko AI on your Moodle site.

Get the Pimenko AI Provider
Contact Pimenko to receive the Provider associated with your purchase and plan.

Install the Provider on Moodle
In Moodle, go to:
Site administration → Plugins → Install plugins
Upload the Provider package and complete the installation process. Then open the Pimenko AI Provider settings and connect the Provider to your account.

Get the free placement plugin
Contact Pimenko to receive the companion Moodle placement plugin and its installation package.

Install and enable the placement
Return to:
Site administration → Plugins → Install plugins
Upload and install ai/placement/pimenkotchatbot. Once the installation is complete, enable the placement in the Pimenko AI or Moodle AI settings.

Configure access and permissions
Choose which users can see and use the assistant. Depending on your Moodle configuration, you can control:
- the roles allowed to use Pimenko AI;
- the modes available to each audience;
- course-level restrictions and teaching policies;
- the placement and visibility of the assistant;
- quotas and other administrative controls.

Open Moodle and start using Pimenko AI
Open a course or page where the placement is enabled. The Pimenko AI assistant should now be visible to authorised users.
Start with a simple request, such as creating a Moodle activity, finding a course or asking the Tutor to explain a concept from the course resources.
Troubleshooting
The assistant is not visible. What should I check?
Is the Provider installed and connected?
Check that the Pimenko AI Provider is installed, enabled and connected to the account associated with your purchase.
Is the placement plugin installed?
The Provider manages the service and credits, but it does not display the assistant by itself. Make sure that ai/placement/pimenkotchatbot is installed and enabled.
Does the current user have permission to use the assistant?
Review the Moodle roles, permissions, enabled modes and course-level settings. The assistant is only shown to authorised users.
